Typical Mornings

Drip Drip Drip
The coffee has begun to percolate
Waiting for my first cup
Looking distraught and desperate

Drip Drip Drip
The coffee is a brewing
My eyes are not adjusted
My brain is stewing

Drip Drip Drip
Almost enough for the first cup
With baited breath I do await
The moment when I finally wake up

Drip Drip Drip
The kids are chanting for breakfast
While zombie mom is waiting
To make her cup of coffee at last

Drip Drip Drip
Finally there is enough
The kids are absolutely fed up
But all is right with the world

Drip Drip Drip
Cup full to the brim
Happy kids eating now
Dancing gaily with the wind
Finally, the coffee is brewed!
